My Story
I’m Lelanie Botha — a photographer based in the heart of George, in South Africa’s breathtaking Garden Route. Photography has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and turning it into a life’s work has been one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever given myself.
I grew up surrounded by the extraordinary landscapes of the Western Cape — the ancient fynbos, the Outeniqua Mountains, the wild Indian Ocean coastline. That love of the natural world shapes everything I do.
I believe that the best photographs aren’t manufactured — they’re discovered. My job is to create a calm, unhurried space where you can simply be yourself, and then be there when the beautiful moments unfold.
My Approach
I don’t pose people into stiff, uncomfortable shapes. I don’t chase trends. I work with who you are — your personalities, your relationship, your story — and I let that lead.
Sessions with me are relaxed and unhurried. We walk, we talk, we laugh. Sometimes we sit quietly in the fynbos and let the light do what it does. The result is imagery that is honest, warm, and completely, recognisably you — photographs you’ll still love in twenty years.
What I Believe

I shoot almost exclusively with natural and golden-hour light. The Cape has some of the most extraordinary light in the world — I’ve spent years learning how to use it.

I’m not interested in stiff, over-posed images. Real laughter, real tears, real touch — those are the moments that matter. My job is to catch them.

Home & Heart
George, the Outeniqua Mountains, the ancient forests of Wilderness, the wild coastline between Mossel Bay and Plettenberg Bay — these are my backdrops. I know this landscape intimately, and I know where the light falls best at every hour of the day.
I’m available for sessions throughout the Garden Route and Klein Karoo, including George, Knysna, Wilderness, Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, Plettenberg Bay, and surrounding areas.
